Jason Greig is a Timaru-born artist who graduated from the University of Canterbury Ilam School of Fine Arts in 1985 with honours in engraving. He went on to teach at both Otago University and the University of Canterbury. His etchings, mono-prints and lithographs consider the bleakness of the human condition with both humour and profundity, inspired by heavy metal music, Goya, French Symbolism, Gothic art and horror movies.
