While Christchurch has no by-laws surrounding age consent for body art, we do uphold our own policy regarding this;

16-18: you will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. photo identification is required of both you and your parent/guardian.

18 +: All we require is photo identification.

Our minimum charge is $180.00. We offer obligation free quotes for your design or idea. We also offer free consultations - these do however require an appointment.
We price designs by piece rather than by hour.

Deposits are required for all clients.

We use a range of different pigments including Eternal, Dynamic Black and Solid Ink. All pigments are (to our knowledge) vegan and are sourced from reputable suppliers.

10-13: We offer ear lobe piercings only and you need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Identification is required of both the child and the parent/legal guardian.

13-16: We offer limited piercing services and require you to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Identification is required of both the child and the parent/legal guardian.

16-18: Some services are up to the piercer’s discretion. All we require is photo identification.

18 +: All we require is photo identification.

WE DO NOT OFFER INTIMATE PIERCINGS TO ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18

We offer earlobe piercings to children 10 years and older. Identification is required for both the child and the parent/legal guardian. We charge a $60.00 piercing fee PLUS the cost of jewellery for all piercings. We have a wide range of jewellery options to choose from, this is why prices are not individually listed as total cost all depends on what high quality piece you choose for your piercing – we look forward to helping you decide on a piece that best suits you!

Given the nature of body jewellery, all sales are final and jewellery is non-refundable.

Both piercers at absolution are members of the Association of Professional Piercers - an international health and safety organization. It is a nonprofit voluntary alliance dedicated to the dissemination of information about body piercing. Governed by a voluntary elected Board of Directors, the APP is a united group of piercing professionals that freely shares information to help fellow members, piercers, health care professionals, legislators, health inspectors, and the general public get the best and most up-to-date information about body piercing.

At absolution, we strive to offer a clean, safe, and inclusive environment for all clients. Our piercers are members of the Association of Professional Piercers, and our front of house team is fully dedicated to continuing education in order to provide the finest possible service. Our tattoo artists come from a range of backgrounds and skill sets, able to do a wide variety of designs. Our diverse studio staff offers something for everyone.

Bookings are required for all body piercing services and can be made HERE Tattoo bookings are required to guarantee you an appointment with your desired artist. We do sometimes have same day availability, feel free to call us on 381-7539 to inquire. We employ modern sterilisation techniques, offering our clients the best in up to date sterilisation technology. Everything used is brand new, single use and disposable.
