Sofiya R is a Russian-born, mixed media artist and photographer based in Ōtautahi. Her work is a reflection of an ever-changing relationship between identity and place, and is often influenced by her background as a first-generation immigrant in a city undergoing rebuild. Themes of sexuality and body are common in her work, as well as challenging social norms.
